Tech support suggested this trick since I am so disenchanted with the copy found in the automatically generated email to participants.
It was recommended that, instead of entering the email addresses of everyone who is invited to the meeting, that I only enter my email address. When the email arrives it can be edited and forwarded to the appropriate attendees. The hyperlinks need to be reactivated, but this is easy compared to wading through the mountain of detail contained in the automatic email.
I'm not a big fan of workarounds, but this will suffice until some changes are made.
